Complementary Therapies

Used alongside and in support of conventional medical therapy methods, and are based on the interaction between the body, the mind and the energy system that combines them.
Complementary and conventional approaches can overlap significantly; there are some complementary therapies such as acupuncture or massage which are now considered mainstream or conventional.

Alternative Therapies

Used in place of conventional (allopathic) therapies.

Integrative Therapies

May combine mainstream medical therapies, complementary and/or alternative therapies for specific outcomes.
