Beyond The Physical: Exploring The Four Pillars of Holistic Well-being
Our bodies are innately designed to heal themselves; we realize this is true, but did you know there is a whole other aspect to your being?
Many people go through life without any awareness of their body or their being. We are human but basically, we are animals; in Latin anima means breath. If we think about that for a moment, without breath we do not exist; there is so much more to our beings than our physical bodies.

For many there can be discomfort, perhaps a disengagement, a waiting for things to return to normal, or even feelings life can no longer continue. We may find ourselves pulling away from everything we know resulting in even further feelings of isolation. We are left alone in our experience and in the cumulative emotions, without the tools to process what shows up. This is grief!
Why I Say ‘No to Fireworks’ on Canada Day
Today we celebrate Canada Day, and while many enjoy the vibrant fireworks displays that light up the sky, I choose not to attend these events. This decision is rooted in my commitment as a trauma-informed coach and my deep compassion for those affected by the loud explosions and bright flashes.
Understanding Ourselves
The polyvagal theory, coming out of the work of Stephen Porges discusses the key role the vagus nerve plays in regulating our emotional state. Depending on external factors, our brain via the vagus nerve orchestrates a response to either fight, freeze or feel calm and socially engaged. This sense of connection is possible when we feel a sense of safety.
Mindfulness and Polyvagal Theory in Daily Life
By combining mindfulness practices with an understanding of Polyvagal Theory, you can create a holistic approach to managing your stress and enhancing your well-being.
